SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Skidmore College is relocating employees based in the Starbuck Center on campus due to health concerns.
“The move is being made while the College investigates health concerns reported by employees who work in Starbuck Center,” Dan Forbush, the executive director of communications at the college, said in a statement.
Skidmore College said they recently learned that some of the building's employees were experiencing health concerns that they believed were due, in part, to their workspace. The school has brought in an industrial hygienist to perform testing on the building. Skidmore did not elaborate on the symptoms felt by the employees.
"After the relocations have been completed, we expect that Starbuck will be off-line for some number of months. We will be able to estimate that period of time more accurately once we begin to see test results," said Forbush.
The offices of Academic Advising, the Registrar, and Student Academic Services will be relocated to Palamountain Hall next week, followed by the offices of the Bursar, Card Services, and Student Financial Aid. Career Services, First-Year Experience, and Off-Campus Study and Exchange will be relocated to Case Center.
